London apartment

Our neighbourhood

We are staying very near to Victoria Park and also the Olympic Park. Today Hamish and I took a 10 minute bus ride to Stratford, a very big shopping mall. Had a lovely lunch at a Greek restaurant and strolled around the shops. Also took a walk in the park which is large and green. I have enjoyed a change of pace and some time to relax today. Hamish flies home tonight. Doug, Tom and Tom have gone into the city for some education at a couple of the museums.

London

The Tower, Book of Mormon

I have encountered a problem with the blog photos, so this is just quick update on our travels since the wedding. Sadly, Carole had a fall in her room late on the wedding night and had to go to hospital for surgery on her hip. She has come through fine but will need some recovery time before returning home. Neville and Jennie are staying on in Wales with her.
Doug and I travelled to London with the boys by car as planned on Monday and met Jeff and Zara for dinner before they jetted off to Sicily on honeymoon. Our apartment is lovely and comfortable, but about 40 mins to go into the city on the undergound. We have also used buses and Uber - quite a mission getting around London, not like just jumping in the car at home! I am feeling very tired today after yesterdays excursion to the Tower of London, then lots more walking taking in St Pauls, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly, etc, and finally dinner and the show "Book of Mormon". Enjoyed the Tower, did the tour with the Beefeater guide, then visited Crown Jewels, armour, etc - all really interesting. The show was excellent, very funny!

Jeff and Zara's Wedding

A wonderful day at The Lake Country House in Wales!

Jeff and Zara were married in a stunning setting in the Welsh countryside. Zara looked beautiful and Jeff was ebullient! A very lovely wedding, lots of laughter and a few tears. The weather was cool but fine. We were delighted to have all our family here and we received a warm welcome from Kim, Arnold and the Prosser family. Great speeches and delicious food, then a live band and lots of dancing.

Just married!
